Campus Store Associate

JOB SUMMARY

The Campus Store Associate is a part-time position that supports the daily operations of the School store. Duties include customer service, performing sales transactions on the store’s computerized point-of- sale system, and stocking and pricing merchandise.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Greets visitors in a friendly and professional manner.
  • Operates a point-of-sale system.
  • Replenishes merchandise on display shelves and racks. Must be able to lift and bend to put product on shelves and on racks.
  • Supports the Campus Store Director with the receiving and unpacking of merchandise. Must be able to lift cartons and pull products form cartons.
  • Assists with the display of merchandise in the Store's display windows.
  • Provides general upkeep of the Store keeping display shelves and racks neat and organized.
  • Able to work with staff, students and families from diverse backgrounds and experiences..
  • Fill web orders and prepares them for pick up or shipping.
  • Performs other projects and responsibilities that may be added at the School’s discretion as needed.
  • Inventory control of products.

JOB REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Retail or customer service experience preferred.
  • Capable of using computer equipment, systems, and software used in the management of the Store operations, including Word and Excel.
  • Communicate effectively with guests and staff.
  • While performing the essential functions of this position, the Campus Store Associate is frequently required to stand, walk, sit, communicate, reach, and manipulate objects, tools or controls. The position requires mobility and physical exertion. Duties involve moving materials weighing 10-20 pounds. Manual dexterity and coordination are required while operating equipment such as computer keyboard, mouse, calculator, and similar machines.
  • Availability to work from the first week of August through the first week of June.
  • The first two weeks of August will require full time for Book Days preparation.
  • Weekly availability after school starts, requires 10-20 hours per week.
  • Requires availability on Saturday for Homecoming.
  • The store is closed when school is not in session.
  • A flexible schedule is a plus for subbing other store shifts or occasional events

OTHER INFORMATION

  • A criminal history and background check is required and must be successfully completed.
  • Work primarily in a traditional climate-controlled office environment.
